ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLES OFFICER (Band 5) (VACANT)

Salary Range – $2,190,302 – $2,945,713 per annum and any allowance(s) attached to the post.

JOB SUMMARY

 

Ensuring that all Client invoices are done and properly filed after they have generated. Under the general supervision of the Senior Financial Accountant the incumbent is follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure prompt settlement.

 

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

 

  • ACCA Cat Level 2
  • Sc. Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualifications
  • Successful completion of the required Government accounting Certificate
  • Two (2) years’ experience in government accounting

OR

  • Sc. Degree in Business Administration/Business Studies or related studies
  • Diploma in Accounting/ Certificate (Upper Secondary) with courses in Accounting
  • Successful completion of the required Government accounting Certificate
  • Two (2) years’ experience in government accounting

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)

  • Prepare all Clients invoices for Engineering Consultancy and Project Management Works according to contract.
  • Generate Client Statements
  • Processes accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Performs day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables data.
  • Participates in investigating discrepancies and in resolving clients’ billing issues.
  • Facilitates payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients; Initiates collections on past-due accounts
  • Reconciles the receivable accounts ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Generates accurate financial statements detailing accounts receivable status.
  • Provides ad hoc, specialized, and statistical reports regarding accounts receivable.
  • Enter receipts for payments received from clients.
  • Ensure reimbursables are billed and the requisite supporting document(s) evidencing the transaction sent.
  • Conducts research and provides historical financial information as required.
  • Prepares lodgment for deposit at bank.
  • Perform any other related duties as directed by supervisor or Head of Department.
