PROJECT BACKGROUND

The Ticky Ticky spring located in the vicinity of Coleyville in Northern Manchester is currently being investigated as a potential water source for the surrounding community of approximately three hundred (300) residents. If found to be a viable source, a water system will be implemented to supply the community. It is estimate that a daily water supply of approximately 12,000 imperial gallons (55,000 litres) will be sufficient.

RELEVANCE OF THE PROJECT

Provision of potable water to the residents in the vicinity of the Ticky Ticky spring.

OVERALL AND SPECIFIC PROJECT PURPOSE

To construct a water supply system to provide potable water to the residents in the vicinity of the Ticky Ticky spring.

PROJECT OUTPUTS

A solar pumping system to pump water from the Ticky Ticky spring to an elevated tank -Water tank at an elevated point to store water -Pipeline to facilitate the pumping of water from the Ticky Ticky spring to an elevated tank -Pipeline to facilitate the distribution of potable gravity fed water to the surrounding community

POSSIBLE RISKS/ASSUMPTIONS

There is the potential risk of equipment being stolen after installation, however this risk is considered minimal

The project is estimated to have a duration of three (3) months
